We currently package our virtual machines for four different virtualization software options: Hyper-V (Gen2)ParallelsVirtualBox, and VMware. These virtual machines contain an evaluation version of Windows that expires on the date posted. If the evaluation period expires, the desktop background will turn black, you will see a persistent desktop notification indicating that the system is not genuine, and the PC will shut down every hour.

Overview of Windows 11 Professional

Windows 11Pro has an entirely new design. Microsoft needs a good reason to reverse its past claims and ditch Windows 10 by introducing a new operating system number. And a completely new design is excellent for that.

The central part of this announcement is a significant user interface change. We will borrow a significant portion of the UX changes from the Windows 10X shell, and Windows 10X is not coming to market.

Right angles will disappear. Fillets will replace them. In truth, insiders and concept designers disagree on this point – some are confident that Microsoft will not change its traditions and keep right angles. In contrast, others are convinced that Microsoft will follow the fashion for fillets.

There will be a translucent background with blur everywhere. There is disagreement on the web about the island style of displaying windows, the design of the corners, and the levitation effect of the menu. Still, almost everyone is unanimous about the transparency of the windows. Most leaks and design renders show transparency and blurs in all windows, be it the Start menu or Explorer.

Why Upgrade To Windows 11

Windows 11 has several innovative improvements for efficiency. For example, the redesigned Settings app now features a persistent left menu to make it easier to navigate to another group from nested settings.

Many of the standby applications have been updated for look and/or features, including the Clock app, which now offers a productivity feature: Focus Sessions. Focus Sessions lets you set boundaries for undistracted time so you can zero in on getting tasks done.

The Photos app can now not only organize and edit photos with both an edge-to-edge photo and multi-image views, but can also handle video editing with titles, transitions, and effects. It also includes features like face recognition, autogenerated albums, and integrated location data for photos. At the same time, the new Media Player app can handle both music and video, including FLAC audio and 4K video.

Microsoft Teams is a key functionality. As a result, Chat from Teams is now integrated into the Windows taskbar so you can instantly connect with others regardless of the platform they’re on—Windows, Android, or iOS. If the other person does not yet have the Teams app, this feature allows you to connect with them via two-way SMS.

When you use Windows 11 on a tablet that has no keyboard, the touch experience has been improved with more space for icons in the taskbar, adding larger touch targets and the ability to resize and move windows more easily. New haptics make using your pen more immersive in that you can hear and feel vibrations as you click through to edit or sketch in a document. And if you prefer voice to text or voice typing, Windows 11 comes with voice commands and can automatically punctuate for you.

Versions

Windows 11 24H2 update, Microsoft will automatically enable device encryption on even more computers. The new update is more inclusive with fewer restrictions for older systems.

Unless you’re upgrading from an older Windows version or using a local account, your machine will be automatically encrypted after you install or reinstall the new version of Windows 11. During the setup, Windows will encrypt every drive on your PC and link the encryption keys to your Microsoft account. The drives will automatically unlock when you log in with the same account. Device encryption keeps your storage safe even if someone manages to insert your drive into a different computer to gain unauthorized access.

The Windows 11 23H2 update, which came out earlier in February this year, also offered the same auto-encryption using BitLocker. But it had some advanced requirements (for example, Hardware Security Test Interface and Modern Standby) that excluded older computers. Plus, it only automatically encrypted devices on a fresh installation of Windows 11 23H2.

With the new update, Microsoft is loosening the restrictions mentioned above. Fresh installations or reinstallations of the new Windows 11 version will automatically enable BitLocker encryption, even on devices that lack Hardware Security Test Interface (HSTI) and Modern Standby. You can disable this automatic device encryption in the Settings app. If you’re simply upgrading to the newer version, BitLocker will have to be manually enabled.

The last update was primarily geared towards Windows 11 Pro, Enterprise, and Education editions. Windows 11 24H2 will also target Windows 11 Home machines that have encryption flags enabled in the UEFI defaults.

Microsoft will start pushing the Windows 11 24H2 update from September. It’s worth mentioning that the Apple T2 security chip support has enabled automatic device encryption on Macs for a few years now. Microsoft has just been playing catch up these past few months.
